  • Bulletin week of 10/21-10/25

    District Wide News:

     5-day week this week.

    4-day week next week, no school Friday November 1st.

     If you have not been able to access your parent portal, please e-mail or call Carly in the High School Office. This is a great tool to stay caught up with your student’s grades, lunch account balance and more.

     **Reminder all visitors need to sign in and out with the office and wear a visitor badge during school hours! This is an important safety feature for our students and staff! **

     Elementary News:

     After School Program is for students to get extra help and complete homework. This is not a daycare program and your student will be signed out if they do not have work to complete. Please arrange to have your child picked up or to walk home upon signing out.

     K-2 Program

    Students in grades 6-12:  On Wednesday, October 23rd, Mr. Joe Groves from the Kendrick chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be here to share information about two scholarship programs.  He will have an information table set up in the Commons during the lunch hour, from 11:40-12:20.

    Grades 6-8 can apply for the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest

    Grades 9-12 can apply for the Voice of Democracy speech/oratory contest

    Please plan to stop by Mr. Groves information table Wednesday next week to learn more.

    THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE 

    Starting Monday Novemebr 11th in the Genesee Multi-Purpose Room. 

    Those auditioning should arrive at 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. Among the roles to be cast are the wise Tortoise - Coach Shelley Bowlback, the Conceited Curly Hare, Esther and her daughter Little Bonnie Bunny, the rascally Weasels, the singing service station Ferrets and the scaly Reptiles. Other roles include the Thespian Troupe, Curly's Posse, the TV Crew and the rowdy Curly Hare Fan Club. Students, ages Kindergarten through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

    Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:30 to 7:45 p.m. each day.

    THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE will be presented on Friday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Genesee School. The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in Genesee is brought to you by the Genesee Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) with support from Genesee Recreation District, Genesee Education Foundation, and Latah Arts and Culture Committee.

    This opportunity is open to all Genesee school aged children including those homeschooled in our community.

    Thursday- Blue & Gold Day-FB Players in jerseys, VB player in jersey tops, both HS and JH students. Cheer squad in uniforms and everyone else in bulldog blue, gold and white! Homecoming Pep Rally starting in the Main Gym at 1:30.

    Saturday- Homecoming dance- GHS commons at 8:00. Guest sign-up sheet is in the office.

    Juniors- If you want to take the PSAT test again on the morning of October 16th, you must register for it with Carly in the High School Office. The PSAT is optional for Juniors. The registration fee this year is $17.00, and you must have payment when you register. The deadline to register will be Monday October 14, by 12:00 pm.
