    District Wide News:

    4-day week no school Friday October 30th.  

    4-day week next week, no school Friday November 6th

    Dr. Moore and Mr. Caldwell will host a Community Meeting on Weds, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. to give the community an update on the status of the district, protocols and procedures.  Please join us.  This meeting will be recorded and put on the district website ( www.sd282.org) within 24 hours.

     If you have not been able to access your parent portal, please e-mail or call Carly in the High School Office. This is a great tool to stay caught up with your student’s grades, lunch account balance and more.

    As of 10/19 Genesee Schools are in the Yellow Stage, students and staff are required to wear masks. Please send your students with their own masks, we have a limited supply available.

    **We are asking for limited visitors to the school during COVID. Please plan to e-mail or call to arrange meeting times if you do need to come in the building, please be prepared to wear a mask. **

    Elementary News:

    If you drop your students off at school in the morning we are allowing you to drive through the bus drop off zone to drop off your students. If you would please enter from Tamarack and drive through from East to West. Do not pass busses in the drop off zone. Please do not enter from the High School side and remind your students to be mindful of other traffic in the drop off zone.

    After School Program: WILL BE ENDING AT 4:00 THIS WEEK.

    There will be no program offered for Kindergarten this year.

    1st and 2nd grade will be discussed with parents during November conferences.

    Grades 3-6 ASP:

    Monday- Mrs. Wommack’s Classroom  

    Tuesday- Mr. Sams’s Classroom

    Wednesday- Mrs. Heath’s Classroom

    Thursday- Mrs. Johnson’s Classroom

    The After School Study Hall is a place where elementary students can complete homework in a quiet setting where a teacher is available to help. Families are responsible for providing transportation home if needed.

    JR High and High School News:

    The PSAT has been rescheduled for January, please look for more information closer to the testing date.

    All 7-12 classes will be online for the next two weeks with students resuming on campus instruction on November 9th. If you do not have reliable internet for online instruction please contact the High School office for further assistance.

    JH Volleyball practices will be suspended during this time and resume on the 9th as well.

    After School Program: Is available to all secondary students. Students will communicate with the teachers they need to meet with to set up times after school.

    Wednesday (1:05-1:20)- Open

    Thursday (2:05-2:20)- Open

    Friday October 30- 1A D1 Volleyball State Tournament in Jerome. Genesee plays Liberty at 3:30 MST.

  • Coronavirus Relief Funds

    Idaho families are facing many challenges as they are forced to rapidly adapt to changing circumstances in their children’s education because of COVID-19. Through the Strong Families, Strong Students program Idaho families are provided access to grant funds to help with their students learning.

    Strong Families, Strong Students 
    Is a grant program funded by Idaho’s Coronavirus Relief Funds, which provides Idaho students access to grant dollars that can be used to purchase educational goods and services that their families decide their students need.

    Core lessons are suspended while we are in yellow. Tuesday will be a normal schedule. 

    PSAT registration fee’s can be paid to Carly in the office- $17.00 cash or check, this needs to be paid by 4:00 Monday October 6th.

    Monday October 19- JH Football at Logos. Game starts at 6:00 bus leaves at 4:30.

    Tuesday October 20 1A D1 District Volleyball Tournament. Kamiah vs Prairie at 4:00. Genesee versus winner of Kamiah vs Prairie match at 7:00.

    Wednesday October 21 – 1A D1 District Volleyball at Troy. Genesee plays Troy at 7:00. 

    Thursday October 22 - 1A D1 District Volleyball at Home. Genesee plays Prairie at 6:00. 

    Saturday October 24- 1A D1 District Volleyball TBD.

    At this point we are strongly encouraging students and staff to wear masks. We are very thankful for the generous mask donations that have come in this year. We do have free masks available for students who need them as well as masks for purchase.

    Wednesday October 14 – Volleyball at Home vs Potlatch. Varsity ONLY at 3:30.

    Thursday October 15 - Volleyball at Home vs Lapwai. Varsity team plays at 4:30, JV plays at 6:00 and Varsity plays again at 7:30.

    JH Volleyball at Troy. Matches start at 5:30, bus leaves at 4:25.

    JH Football at Troy. Game starts at 5:30, bus leaves at 4:00.
