What is a "math coach"?  This year I get to cheer kids on, help them learn the "things" that will help them make sense of mathematics, and be there for practice, practice, practice! I will be working with students across all grade levels this year and can't wait to get started.

Of couse math is computation, but it is so much more: reasoning, working with accuracy, making sense of problems, using the right tools and methods when needed, thinking critically, and being able to express one's thinking in a way that communicates ideas clearly. I truly believe all people are problem-solvers, and I also believe each person is capable of developing the ability to think independently and make decisions after thoughtful consideration.
