I have been teaching in the Genesee School District since 1999. I was initially hired as the school’s reading specialist and for 11 years I worked in our Title I program providing reading instruction and interventions to students who struggled with the reading process. In 2010 I began teaching kindergarten and have had the time of my life – I love teaching this age group! I have a Master’s Degree in elementary education with a reading emphasis and a passion for early literacy. My husband Jason and I have two daughters, one in college and the other a recent college graduate serving in the army, and we’ve lived in Genesee for over 20 years. (Jason teaches social studies in the Genesee middle and high school and helps coach junior high and high school sports.) When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family and dog (you may see me walking him around town - the dog, of course!), reading, gardening, playing the piano, and traveling as often as possible.
